While Disney+'s WandaVision may not have leaned into the fan theories we were hoping for (in fact, they just shattered our hopes and dreams outright), we're still holding out for surprise cameos and multiverse teases in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier when it premieres on Friday.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier follows Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barns (Sebastian Stan) as they navigate a post-Avengers: Endgame world in which Tony Stark is dead and Steve Rogers has passed his iconic Captain America shield onto Wilson.
ICYMI: MMA legend Georges St-Pierre, who appears in the series reprising his Captain America: The Winter Solider role as Batroc the Leaper, teased "bigger" fan theories for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on his Load Management podcast visit.
"It could be even bigger," St-Pierre said when asked if the show will provide similar fan theories. "It's huge. They put so much budget into this thing it's incredible."
Of course, this is Marvel we're talking about, and Tom Holland slip-ups aside, every actor's lips are tightly sealed. St-Pierre couldn't reveal anything further, saying, "It's all very compartmented. I only know what I needed to know. I don't know the whole story, to tell you the truth. And even if I wanted to tell you stuff, I couldn't. They're very good at hiding stuff."
The trailer teases some of those big-budget, action-packed fight scenes reminiscent of the MCU big-screen productions. But while fans look forward to seeing our two heroes fight the next villain (probably Batroc and definitely Baron Zemo), I'm truly just waiting in anticipation of their love-hate banter.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres on March 19 on Disney+.
